What are you working on?
I am currently the Innovation Process Manager at RAC. Through this role, I work to help build the innovation mindset and capability that will see us develop the next generation of great new product and services for our members. I also coordinat RAC SeedSpark in partnership with Spacecubed, a program that provides early stage seed funding for local startups building great businesses that contribute to a better WA. Outside of RAC, I run a community education startup, SkillSocial; co-orginase Startup Weekend and host a monthly pitch event called Startup Open Mic Night.
What is your real passion, interest outside of work (something you can't stop talking about )?
I’m really passionate about many things and love to have lots of hobbies on the go at once. I play guitar, love to garden, paint (badly), learn new programming language (NodeJS is the current favourite), and build up-cycled furniture.
What do you want to get from this community?
I have already and continue to get a lot out of the Spacecubed community - friendships, new skills, networks and amazing experiences that have exposed me to ways of thinking and working that I wouldn’t had known about with it.
What can you give to this community?
I want to help create opportunities to build mutually beneficial relationships between large corporates and the WA startup community. I believe corporates can and should help the WA startup ecosystem grow and there many untapped opportunities for startups to help corporates overcome and outsmart some of the massive disruption many industries are facing.
