In August 2013, Spacecubed played host to the Future of learning workshop. The half day event placed 20 enthusiast attendees in our vault to think and brainstorm about the essential characteristic of school in 2024.
On Saturday 8th of June 2013, Spacecubed played host to the Wilderness Society as the space was filled with beautiful art donated by talented local artists for a silent auction. The purpose of this fundraiser was to raise money and awareness for their ongoing court case in the Kimberley.
For this unique event, The Wilderness Society booked out the entire space on a Saturday evening from 6-10pm to showcase all the amazing art for auction, with catering and drinks arranged for the 130 people who attended. Through generous donations and the silent auction, they managed to raise well over $20,000 for the cause.
On July 11th and 12th 2013, Spacecubed played host to WA’s first community games workshop. Run by Kate Raynes Goldie, the event placed 10 enthusiast attendees in our vault to learn more about using real world games to excite, inform and engage, specifically within the Not For Profit sector.
For this workshop, Atmosphere Industries booked out the Vault, which allows some privacy from the rest of Spacecubed while giving them plenty of space to work with whilst designing their games, including whiteboards and a projector. Once the games were designed they would then head down to the Supreme Court gardens to implement their games with the public. By booking well in advance, Atmosphere Industries was able to secure 2 full days at a discounted rate, plus a further discount for being a not for profit.
