What is your startup?
Nutrition Nation is a nutrition coaching service with a focus on weight loss. The business aims to move past traditional methods of one-off clinical appointments, delivering nutrition services in the client’s own environment through regular nutrition support, motivation and advice. You can’t attend one session with a dietitian and expect to change a lifetime of developed behaviours. That’s where the regular coaching comes in.
What was the inspiration behind your startup?
As an Accredited Practising Dietitian, I’ve noticed that as a group, dietitians either don’t know how to market themselves, or they aren’t in touch with their clients’ needs. Even less qualified individuals seem to control the market space (e.g. celebrity chefs, lawyers etc…). People are pouring their money into weight loss solutions that don’t work.
What are your goals for the next month?
Settle on branding, launch my website, and further refine my target market. Continue my pilot program. Validate, validate, validate.
Where do you expect your startup to be in 3 months time?
By Christmas I would have coached a growing number of people to achieve weight loss success. People will be saying, “why don’t you try Nutrition Nation? With this program you lose the weight and actually keep it off”.
